Fluttershy's Secret (Part 5 of FlutterDash Story)

That's when Big Mac pressed his lips against mine. I couldn't believe this. Big Mac?! Why would he do this? He's too shy. I pushed him away.

"I'm sorry Fluttershy. I was going to ask you if you wanted to go out to eat. Or maybe catch a movie, but I couldn't help myself" I knew where he was coming from. I didn't realize that a single tear fell down my cheek. A little squeak noise came out of my mouth as I formed the words.

"I can't." And with that, I scooted my hooves around and ran away, hoping that Rainbow didn't see the biggest mistake of my life.


I never whizzed past clouds faster then that afternoon. I looked yonder past the lake. There I saw the blue pegasus skipping stones, looking more depressed then ever. I must've broken her heart in half, and most of the pieces are missing. The shattered heart of hers made me depressed as well. I summoned up my courage and flew down to the lake. I was surprised the lake wasn't frozen. As I came into viewing point of her, her face was scrunched up in pain. Tears flowed down her face and into the lake.

"Rainbow.." Were the only words that slipped out. I couldn't hold back my tears.

"Here to break my heart again aren't you?" Rainbow asked sarcastically.

"No!" I ended up yelling. I closed my lips fast.

"I knew it wouldn't last. I'm not good enough for you. And I kinda knew it. I guess it was fun while it lasted." She chucked the stone instead of skipping it.

"Bu-but Big Mac kissed me! I didn't want to kiss him." Rainbow turned her head to look at me. Her eyes filled with hatred. She scrunched up her nose.

"Prove it." I did what apparently gets Rainbow on your good side. I grabbed her shoulders and kissed her. How unexpected of me. Rainbow was still stiff in her shoulders. She didn't move a muscle. She light pulled me away. Our lips inches away.

"It doesn't seem real..." Her words faded in the day.

"What doesn't?" I whisper.

"You... and Big Mac... Why?..." She faded again. She seemed to get lost in my eyes.

"I guess I'm too lovable." I smiled. I kissed her nose. She then smiled back.

"You believe me now?" A gust of wind blew my mane in my face. We both giggled, as if we were gossiping about some pony. She stroked my mane back where it belonged.

"Yes.." We leaned into a kiss, but I heard hoof steps behind me. Multiple to be exact. I sped around. Apple Jack, Bon Bon, and Carrot Top were staring at us. After all, we were about to kiss. Blush rose from Rainbow's face.

"Uh... Hey guys! What brings yeah here?" Rainbow asked awkwardly. It took Carrot Top a moment to summon her words.

"Well," she began, "We were just on our way to the apple farm to set up Big Mac's party, and well, you guys were invited, but we didn't see you there."

"We assumed you guys would be at the lake cause Rainbow loves to hang out here." Finished Bon Bon. She looked at Carrot Top, and then at me.

"Uh, yes! Are we leaving now?" I asked. I sort of wanted to be with Rainbow for as much time as possible.

"Unless you guys are doing something private." Carrot Top suggested. Rainbow and I exchanged glances.

"We'll leave now." Rainbow said suddenly.









Walking from the gorgeous lake all the way to the apple farm is exhausting, but if Rainbow could press on, then so could I. How do ponies walk up hill everyday? I was used to just flying low to the ground. AJ didn't seem tired one bit. What I would give to catch up with AJ.

"Almost there y'all." AJ lowered her voice.

"Also, keep them voices down. We don't want Big Mac to hear." AJ then ducked her head, and headed into the barn, while we followed right behind her. It was pitch black. It felt oh so nice when AJ turned on the lights. The barn was filled with many ponies. Streamers, balloons, and decorations were everywhere. All of them red and green. Big Mac colors of course. Pinkie Pie then came bouncing into the clearing.

"I decorated it all myself! Do yeah like it? Huh? Huh? Do yeah? Do yeah?" She was so excited, it sounded like she wasn't breathing.

"Oh yes, it's wonderful. The red streamers really make the party special." I smiled. Pinkie smiled back and bounced away.

"Y'all get down! Bon Bon is gettin' Big Mac!" AJ then ducked behind a table.

"Why the hay are you taking me into the barn-" Big Mac was interrupted by AJ's screams.

"Happy Birthday Big Mac!" She screamed as everyone else echoed her. Big Mac's face lit up.

"Oh sis! Did y'all plan this?" Big Mac asked AJ

"Yep" Applejack laughed, and so did he. I walked over to where the drinks were. I poured myself some water, and I saw Carrot Top come up to me.

"Hey Fluttershy!" She greeted.

"Oh.. hi.." I said. I was still a bit shy around Carrot Top. I'm just really shy when it comes to ponies I don't know as well.

"Can I ask you a question?" She asked me. I smiled and nodded my head.

"What were you doing down by the lake?" The question caught me off guard. I had to make up something.


"Umm.. Rainbow I were skipping stones and you came by and-" Carrot Top interrupted me.

"Fluttershy, you don't have to lie." I was confused.

"What do you mean Carrot Top?"


"I mean I know about the kiss."
