Rainbow's Secret (Part 6 of FlutterDash Story)

I couldn't believe it! The pain in my heart couldn't bear it. I do know that Fluttershy isn't the dating type, but for her to kiss him? My head started to pound. From emotional pain. I spun around, and flew as fast as I could down by the lake. I went so fast, I was surprised I didn't do the Sonic Rainboom. My tears fell down my face. They soaked and stained my cheeks.

"Hey Rainbow Dash!" Scootaloo shouted to me from earth. I ignored her. I did not want her to see me, the brave Rainbow Dash, crying. The air started to freeze. It hungered the sun's warmth. Moments past before it was completely freezing. I sped even faster towards the lake. I just wanted to be alone. I saw a pile of stones next to me. I picked one up and skipped it, bouncing off the clear, blue water. I sighed. I should've seen this coming. I picked up another stone, and skipped it. I heard some pony come up behind me. I knew it was Fluttershy, but I kept my back turned towards the river. I stared down into the lake, watching the fish swim by with no cares, or worries in the world.

"Rainbow.." Choked Fluttershy. I didn't want to hear it. She obviously was about to cry, but I wouldn't blame her.

"Hear to break my heart again aren't you?" I asked sarcastically. I wouldn't be surprised if she was offended by my tone.

"No!" She yelled at me. My eyes grew big as I spun around. Fluttershy was standing so stiff, so unlike her. Her eyes narrowed down. Her body not moving at all, but after a few seconds, she relaxed. I turned my head back to the lake.

"Bu-but Big Mac kissed me! I didn't want to kiss him." I turned my head back, not buying the words she was selling. I scrunched up my nose.

"Prove it." Was all I said. She then grabbed my shoulders and kissed me. Of course she would. I still didn't move. I couldn't tell if she was toying with me, or something. I lightly pushed her away, to the point of nose to nose.

"It doesn't seem real..." I finally said. I had lost my train of thought.

"What doesn't?" She asked.

"You... and Big Mac... Why?..." I desperately need to know.

"I guess I'm too lovable." She smiled. She kissed my nose. I couldn't help, but smile back.

"You believe me now?" A gust of wind blew her lovely mane in her face. We both giggled, as if we were gossiping about some pony. I stroked her mane back where it belonged.

"Yes.." I was still on guard, but I trust Fluttershy. We leaned in for a kiss, but I heard hoof steps behind us. Sounded like it belonged to a couple of ponies if you ask me. Fluttershy sped around. I then looked past her. Apple Jack, Bon Bon, and Carrot Top were staring at us. After all, we were about to kiss. Blush rose from my face. I felt a bit awkward.

"Uh... Hey guys! What brings yeah here?" I asked awkwardly. It took Carrot Top a moment to reply.

"Well," she began, "We were just on our way to the apple farm to set up Big Mac's party, and well, you guys were invited, but we didn't see you there."

"We assumed you guys would be at the lake cause Rainbow loves to hang out here." Finished Bon Bon. She looked at Carrot Top, and then at Fluttershy. It was true. Almost every pony knows I love to hang out by the lake.

"Uh, yes! Are we leaving now?" Fluttershy asked. She seamed a bit uneasy, but I guess she felt as awkward as I felt.

"Unless you guys are doing something private." Carrot Top suggested. Fluttershy and I exchanged glances.

"We'll leave now." I blurted suddenly.








I stared at Fluttershy the entire walk to the farm. Was she pretending? Did she love me? I was planning on asking her later. AJ then spoke up.

"Almost there y'all." AJ then lowered her voice to a low whisper.

"Also, keep them voices down. We don't want Big Mac to hear." AJ then ducked her head, and headed into the barn, while we followed right behind her. It was pitch black. AJ then flashed on the lights. Thank Celestia. As I adjusted my eyes, I realized all of the decorations around the barn. Lights danced off the wall. Streamers hung from corner to corner of the room. Large balloons were all of the room. The atmosphere was very pleasant. I saw Pinkie Pie come bouncing around the corner. She went up to Fluttershy and said something, but I couldn't make it out.

"Y'all get down! Bon Bon is gettin' Big Mac!" AJ then ducked behind a table. I then ran to the nearest chair and hid. Lyra then shut off the lights.

"Why the hay are you taking me into the barn-" Big Mac was interrupted by AJ's screams and the lights flicking back on.

"Happy Birthday Big Mac!" She screamed as everyone else echoed her. Big Mac's face lit up.

"Oh sis! Did y'all plan this?" Big Mac asked AJ

"Yep" Applejack laughed, and so did he. After everyone walked away, I went up to Big Mac.

"Happy Birthday Big Mac." I said. I was a bit angry at Big Mac for kissing my love.

"Aww thanks." He said. He turned around to talk to AJ.

"What were you doing down by the lake?" I heard Carrot Top talking to Fluttershy. I walked a bit closer to hear the conversation.

"Umm.. Rainbow I were skipping stones and you came by and-" Carrot Top interrupted her.

"Fluttershy, you don't have to lie." I was confused. What does she mean "lie"?

"What do you mean Carrot Top?" She asked.

"I mean I know about the kiss." Carrot Top replied. I was shocked. My mouth dropped open. Does she mean at Rarity's house? If she did, then that means Rarity knows too!
