Carrot Top... and Rarity? Out of all the ponies in Equestria, she told Carrot Top? How did she even find out? We kissed, and she never came down the stairs. My mind ached. I loved her too much. The thought of her made me dizzy. I heard Fluttershy speak up again. I leaned closer to where they were standing, but a hoof landed on my shoulder. I jumped, and turned around. Only Big Mac. I let out a deep breath.

"Oh.. hi Big Mac. Happy Birthday!" I smiled. I was still pretty upset about him kissing Fluttershy.

"Um, so Rainbow. About me kissing Fluttershy, I am deeply sorry because I know that you two are very close friends, and I know I'm shy, but you know how love feels don't ya?" His voice a bit quieter than usual. More than you think Big Mac. I wanted to say the words, but they just left my head faster than you could say apple pie.

"Oh silly, I knew about it because Rarity told me" I heard Carrot Top. My head jerked away from Big Mac. Her words lingering in my mind.

"Oh silly, I knew about it because Rarity told me" The sentence echoed in my ears.

"Uh. n-nice talking with you Big Mac, but I uh- got to uh- talk to Pinkie Pie about the.. uh streamers!" I smiled and walked quickly over to Fluttershy. She looked into my eyes. I saw disappointment in her big, beautiful eyes.

"Rarity knows." She said as she lowered her head to the ground. I didn't want Fluttershy knowing I was eastdropping, so I pretended to get angry. Although I already was, I just acted startled. I didn't say anything. Instead, the first my mind said to me was to go to Rarity's house. I sped out the barn doors so fast, piles of dust came up from the dirt rode. It wasn't like I was going to do anything bad. I was just gonna give that drama queen a piece of my mind.

I first kindly knocked on the purple door. No answer.

"Rarity?" I called.

"Um, Rarity is not here at the moment!" A muffled voice came from behind the door. I rolled my eyes. I began to pound a bit harder.

"Rarity! Get out here!" I started to become angry. My love burned for her. I wanted to protect our love. I wanted no pony breaking our relationship. I don't want ponies like Rarity knowing!

"Rainbow! Go away!" Rarity called from behind the door. I became furious. I started to bang on the door harder.

"Rarity! It's Rainbow! Come out here!" I heard small hoof steps coming towards me. Fluttershy of course. I didn't turn towards her.

"Um Rainbow, it's okay. We can trust Rarity." She put her hoof on my shoulder, and I slowly relaxed.

"But didn't she tell Carrot Top?" She put my hoof down and pondered my question.

"Rarity! Get out here!" She started to yell her name. I smiled, as Rarity opened the door.

"Oh hi guys-" She was interrupted by my yelling voice.

"Why did you tell Carrot Top?" I was about to just barge in, but I stopped myself. Her face dropped.

"Oh my. I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to. It just slipped out." She grinned widely, but I wasn't stupid enough to fall for it.

"Did you see us kiss?" I asked. She nodded slightly. I face scrunched up the way it always done when I'm mad. I always considered it a habit. Rarity then asked us to come in. I didn't think twice. I walked in and sat down on Rarity's blue velvet couch. Rarity sighed.

"Okay, Fluttershy, have a seat." She guided her over to the couch.

"The night you two kissed was very shocking to me. I didn't know you had a thing for each other. So as I walk back down the stairs, I heard Rainbow talking to you. I sort of hid at the end of the stair case, and watch Fluttershy grab you, and you two kissed. I was shocked, but I didn't want to make you guys feel awkward or anything, so I hid at the corner, and pretended to be walking down the stairs." When she finished, Fluttershy and I exchanged awkward glances. The silence wasn't very pleasant, so Fluttershy decided to speak up.

"Um, Rarity? Could you please keep this a secret?" She asked kindly. I would be furious if she said no.

"Oh, darling! Of course I'll keep it a secret! I promise I will not tell anymore ponies." She smiled. All I did was get up, and walked out. I heard Fluttershy close the door. I hated getting Flutershy mixed in things. Especially if it would hurt her emotionally. That was the only thing I cared for the most. I wanted to make it up to Fluttershy. I then remembered something. After Big Mac's party, I was going to take Fluttershy on a picnic. I turned towards the yellow pegasus and smiled.

"Um Fluttershy? Would you like to join me on a walk in the forest?" She then turned towards me. She smiled. I knew she would love it. We both then turned towards the road and walked side by side on the path that leads to the calming forest.

"Okay, okay!" I giggled as we enter the forest.

"When did you start to love me?" She blushed at the question. I too started to blush. I couldn't even wait a few seconds for her answer.

"The moment I met you as a kid. When those kids were picking on me, and you came to rescue me, I felt true love. I just wanted to talk to you for a long time." I smiled, and I kissed her cheek. She blushed once more.

"And if you were ever injured, I would hold you for a million years." She added. That was touching. I never had a single pony tell me that. The trees seemed to move in the wind. They got thicker, and thicker, but the trees and the forest were actually very soothing. I held my chin up. The winds almost made you feel like you could blow all your worries away, and be with the one you love. I bet Fluttershy felt it too. It was hours before we reached a small hill in the forest. I looked at Fluttershy. Her eyes lit up. I knew that she remembered this place. This is where we had baked cupcakes and they were a hit! We sold hundreds of them. Fluttershy closed her eyes. I smiled as her mane was being blown by the wind. It flowed perfectly. My heart melted whenever I saw her. My love for her burned brighter than than the sun, and glowed more than the moon.

"Fluttershy?" I called her name. She seem to not hear me. I called once more, and her eyes opened.

"You remember this place?" I asked. She nodded slightly. She couldn't keep her smile off her face for a second. I thought it was cute.

"This place is so peaceful. How many cupcakes did we sell again?"

"Almost four hundred, believe it or not." I laughed. She then giggled. Winds blew on her face. She lifted her chin to enjoy every moment that winter had to offer. While her eyes were closed, I walked towards an oak tree. She opened her eyes. Inside the big tree, hidden, was a picnic basket, and a blanket. She squeed with joy. I knew that her favorite thing to do was go on picnics with friends. She grabbed the blanket from me and layed it down on the small hill. I grabbed the blanket, and layed it down on the hill. Fluttershy couldn't hold in her joy as she opened the basket. Her eyes softened as she spoke up.

"Caramel Apples! My favorite! Aww, thanks Rainbow." She turned towards me and jumped in excitement. I was holding two sleeping bags. I smiled and took a bite out of my sandwich. Mmm, daisies. And right then and there, everything was perfect.

The crackling of the fire seemed to have woken me up from my sleep. My dreams were as beautiful as the ocean sea. The clouds more perfect than actual ones. Fluttershy and I were sitting on the beach. We were talking, and laughing. Stupid fire woke me up from these sweet dreams. I pulled my blanket up to my shoulders, and tried to go back to sleep. I almost instantly slipped back into my amazing dreams. Rustles in the distanced woke me back up. Ug! When am I ever to enjoy these dreams all night long? More rustles. What kind of pony would be out this late? It was probable a rabbit. I then heard whispers. Whispers belonging to a mare.

"Fluttershy?" I mumbled. I looked over to where should be sleeping. And there she was. So if she wasn't the whispers, who was? I began to get a bit worried.

"Quiet! She'll hear you!" More rustles followed by more whispers started to frighten me. Some pony was out there, and I needed to protect Fluttershy. Chills crept up my spine. Was this pony dangerous? If so, I don't want Fluttershy dragged into this, so I decided not to wake her. I had the strangest feeling about this mare. She's out in the woods and coincidentally out here right next to our camp? After minutes of thinking, I summoned up my courage, which was a lot by the way, and walked towards the sounds of the whispers.

My hooves would not stop stepping on the dried up leaves that had fallen from some of the trees nearby. It covered up almost the entire forest floor. I almost wanted to yell at the leaves. The winds started to pick up. They blew across my face. These were the coldest winds this week. I still proceeded forward. The path then split into two. Both paths too dark to see yonder. Whispers crept into the open night.

"Go left" One of the voices said. I turned towards the sounds.

"Hello? Is somepony there?"

"No, go right." The whispers grew stronger. They echoed in my ears. I scrunched up my nose and closed my eyes. The whispers were confusing. I heard snickers.

"Left. No, right!. Left!" Somepony was trying to confuse me. I heard hoof steps behind me. I sped around. Huge mistake. Something jumped on my back, and pinned me down.

"Where is she?" She yelled. The wind was knocked out of my own body. I couldn't respond. From confusion, fear, and anger. This pony was strong, but I'm stronger. I gathered up my strength, shook the dizziness away, and bucked the pony right off of me. I assumed she'd fall down, but to my surprise, she flew up, sped towards me, and hit the back of my head. Pain flowed through my head. For a few seconds, I got cross vision. The world spun as I tripped over a branch and landed on the forest floor. I heard the pony chuckle. I became irritated. I quickly got up and swung towards the pony, but her swiftness kicked in, and, as if the wind had picked her up, she slid to the side of my hoof, avoiding my fist. My eyes grew wide. She must've missed it by a centimeter! She then grabbed my leg, and flung me at a tree. I didn't have time to react. I hit the tree with a thud. I quickly fell to the ground. My leg was on fire. I looked down on it. The tree had cut into my leg. Warm blood oozed down. I managed to get up. My legs were shaky. I turned my head to find her, but she was no where to be seen. I shook my pain away, and flew up to the sky. I scanned the trees. A flash of red ran past trees west of me.

Her...

I sped down to where she was. I turned around and she stood right there.

"Who are you?" I shouted. I felt so much anger. The shadows always covered her face.

"Where is she?" She spoke again. I was confused. Who was she talking about? When I didn't answer, she just ran away. I flew up to the sky to scan where she went, but she wasn't anywhere. When I turned around though, she was flying right behind me. Impossible! How did she do that? She only smiled. I was confused. She flew towards me, and grabbed my shoulders. She started to fly down to earth. She flew towards the cliffs while pushing me down. I kicked and screamed, but this pony was too powerful.

"Stop!" I screamed, but she just continued to push me down further. The cliffs came into view. I struggled to get out of the red pony's grip. I kicked her, but she wouldn't stop flying towards the grounds.

"Where's your pretty little lover?" She asked sarcastically. This only cause me to kick and scream even more. The red pony smiled as she threw me to the ground. I became unconscious the moment I hit the ground.

My eyes then fluttered open. I looked to my left wing. It was smashed. I then saw a hoof step in front of my face. As I looked up, I finally saw the evil ponies face. It was almost hard to look at.

"Please.." I tried to say, but realized my voice was almost gone.

"Where is she?" She asked again. I became annoyed with this question. I then realized who she wanted.

She wanted Fluttershy!

"I'll ask you again, where is she?" She raised her voice a bit louder, but I only shook my head. I was to weak to talk.

"So, you dare not tell me where she is, huh? You're worthless."

"I'll never tell you! You want to hurt me? Fine, go ahead! But I'm not talking." That hurt very much to talk, but I promised to protect Fluttershy.

"Then I guess I'm done with you." The pony then smiled evilly as she kicked me off the cliff, and flew away. Fear rushed through me. Wind whizzed passed my ears. I quickly grabbed the nearest rock on the cliffside. It was starting to crumble. I then saw Fluttershy hanging her head over the cliff.

"Rainbow?" She called. I tried to warn her about the red pony flying back to where she was before.

"Rainbow!" She finally spotted me. I tried to warn her, but it was too late. The pony returned, and held Fluttershy back, leaving me to fall to my death. The last thing I saw was the mysterious pony punching Fluttershy in the face and her falling to the ground.

I failed....

I failed to protect the only pony I truly loved from a hideous monster.
I spent a lot of time on Part 8.. I really hope you like it!! :D

there seems to be a debate on what the color of said evil pony is. so I ask you fuzzyyPanda: what is the real color? if its purple then its an evil form of twilight (plot twist!) and if its red then its either an OC or the shadow king from season 2. that's what I think.
